I am a home birth midwife who serves expectant mothers in and around the greater Pittsburgh area. My office is located in Monongahela where I also live with my husband and two sons. I felt drawn to midwifery at 13 years old and was blessed with the opportunity to pursue this calling at 23.
I graduated from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College’s Midwifery Program with an associates in Applied Science in Direct Entry Midwifery in 2020 and went on to receive my Certified Professional Midwives certification, or ‘CPM’ for short. In school, I was blessed to attend 96 births and trained under three outstanding midwives in both Florida and Wisconsin. I hold certifications in both neonatal resuscitation and basic life support CPR.
I believe that pregnancy and childbirth is a physiological process that often progresses normally without constant medical intervention. With a healthy lifestyle & good prenatal care, there is seldom a need for women to be hospitalized to give birth. Midwives have an exceptional safety record with numerous studies associating midwifery care with excellent outcomes.
Women should have the option to deliver their babies where they are most comfortable and with whom they are most comfortable, and for many women doing so in their own home serves best. There is no greater joy than being able to support women in one of the most pivotal moments in their growing family’s life. I am committed to giving women a safe and supportive environment to birth their children while in the comfort of their own home.
